Hello! I am an award-winning journalist who believes people-powered stories have the ability to deepen awareness, understanding and perceptions of today’s most pressing issues. By practicing solutions journalism, I focus not just on problems but how people are responding to them. I believe in the power of journalism to be a force of good in the world, taking a critical eye to the systems of our age in an effort to reveal ideas that can help humanity progress for the better. I’m motivated by truth, determined to challenge the status quo, and inspired by human-centered stories that elevating local solutions and voices. 

Currently, I’m the Director, Communities of Practice at the Solutions Journalism Network, where I lead a team focused on health equity, revenue building and education in New England while also cultivating a global network of climate journalists and manage grant programs designed to empower reporters to tell powerful solutions-focused stories about the environment. Previously I was the senior editor at Boulder Weekly, curating the environment and news sections of the weekly paper and working with freelancers and interns to enhance their ideas, reporting and writing. My latest projects include producing the Unhoused podcast analyzing how COVID-19 has changed the conversation around homelessness solutions, and hosting the follow up podcast (un)affordable about affordability solutions in Boulder County. I have also been published in Inside Climate News, Next City, Colorado Parent, Christianity Today, Mada Masr in Egypt and am working on my narrative nonfiction project.
